Most of us would probably agree that one of the best parts about travel is the local gastronomic scene. After all, there’s nothing like having a delicious meal after a long day of touring. In a quest to find out the ultimate foodie destinations, Time Out has ranked the world’s best cities this year for food and drinks. 

Some are unexpected, while others come as no surprise. And the best part? Four out of the top 10 cities for eating and drinking are in Asia — namely, Bangkok, Dubai, Shanghai, and Tel Aviv

In this index, 27,000 readers were surveyed about cities’ affordability, community spirit, diversity, and the local food and drinks scene. Clearly, this includes their current cities, too! The following foodie cities also scored at least a 93% approval rating when it comes to dining out.

  5. Buenos Aires, Argentina
