SINGAPORE: SIA has just announced that they will be reviving their non-stop flights to US in 2018. The restart of the non-stop flight services is in conjunction with the launch of the new Airbus A350 variant.

“Our customers have been asking us to re-start non-stop Singapore-US flights and we are pleased that Airbus was able to offer the right aircraft to do so in a commercially viable manner,” said Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong.

The order of the new aircrafts are due to be delivered in 2018, recommencing the non-stop flights between Singapore, Los Angeles and New York. Other non-stop flight points in the US are also being considered by SIA.

Built with the flexibility to fly long-haul flights and medium haul flights, the new Airbus A350 planes are able to fly 10–12 hours and regionally too. Airbus President and CEO Fabrice Brégier added: “The A350 is the perfect, flexible platform for such operations, offering unrivalled operating economics for the very longest routes.” The new planes are wider and quieter, allowing passengers to enjoy long-haul flights to the US comfortably.

So all of you who have been asking for more direct flights to US, pop the nearest champagne bottle and celebrate the good news!
