Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night” painting just got real! The world’s first ever solar-powered, glow in the dark bike trail has recently opened in Eindhoven, Netherlands last November 12. Designed by Daan Roosegaarde and constructed by Heijmans, the Van Gogh Bicycle Path marks the start of the Van Gogh 2015 international theme year, which celebrates the 125th death anniversary of the famous Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh.
The Van Gogh-Roosegaarde Bicycle Path has a surface that gathers solar energy during the day to produce a bedazzling spectacle of stars at night, giving bikers a sort of interstellar experience. This path becomes part of the Van Gogh bicycle route that connects the Vincent van Gogh heritage locations in Brabant, Vincent’s homeland. If you’re planning to visit Netherlands soon, this Van Gogh bike trail must not be missed!
Here’s something to inspire you more.
Don’t miss this glow in the dark bike trail when you visit Eindhoven, The Netherlands.
