It looks as though it’s a UFO landing site but it’s not even close to it. It may be too perfect to be created by humans, but it’s actually a vast land art project in the eastern Sahara desert bordering the Red Sea in El Gouna, Egypt. This was made possible by the creative collaboration of an installation artist, industrial designer, and an architect.
D.A.ST. Arteam completed this desert installation known as the ‘Desert Breath’ in 1997 but it wasn’t until images of the site appeared on Google Earth that the site was rediscovered. Attracting many visitors spurred by curiosity, Desert Breath still exists until now and its slow breakdown acts an instrument to measure the passage of time.
Head down to Egypt to marvel at this magical desert art before it’s gone.
