Asian and European Hotels Are First to Accept Cryptocurrency for Bookings

As powerful as cryptocurrencies are, it takes time before people understand how such an intricate digital payment system works, let alone appreciate what they can do. But for those who do, and have even made a living out of them as a source of income, the benefits of using cryptocurrencies are limitless.

Travellers, for example, can pay using cryptocurrency in hotels, something that’s never been done before anywhere in the world. That is, until a Hong Kong-based hotel group launched its cryptocurrency hotel booking system in July 2021. As the first in the global hospitality industry to do so, the Hong Kong hotel group takes pride in faster and more secure online payments for its guests!

Cryptocurrency in hotels

Those who are looking into using cryptocurrency in hotels when booking can do so with The Pavilion Hotels & Resorts. Its member properties are in Asia and Europe. Most of them accept bookings with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and 40 other virtual currencies through the group’s partnership with Coindirect, the leading global Crypto-payment gateway.

How to book the hotels

To pay with cryptocurrency in hotels and other properties under The Pavilion Hotels & Resorts, guests must book directly with each of their reservations centres. It would be also available on website booking engines sometime in the future. New properties by the group are likely to use digital currencies for bookings. They include The Pavilions Anana Krabi and The Pavilions El Nido, Palawan Island.
