The Indonesian BTS ARMY Just Organised a Vaccination Program for 10,000 People

Sending hearts to the Indonesian ARMY!

Anyone who’s paying attention knows that the BTS ARMY is more than just a loyal fanbase of the famous K-pop boy group. In fact, BTS ARMYs all over the world are known for being generous and socially responsible. They organise relief operations, donate to charity; and perhaps the most important contribution they’ve had during this pandemic is their support for vaccination drives. The Indonesian BTS ARMY is definitely at the forefront of this initiative.

Indonesia’s BTS ARMY fully supports their government’s vaccination program in the fight against COVID-19. The ARMY, which also goes by the name Senyum Army, began its vaccination drive in the Jakarta Convention Center on Saturday, 31 July 2021. This vaccination program was free for everyone ages 12 and above, whether or not they were fans of BTS. The only requirement was to show their national or family identification cards.

The government provided the Senyum Army with 10,000 Sinovac vaccines to administer to locals who visit the BTS vaccination site. Inside the center, the Senyum Army installed an art exhibit called “Stay Gold is for the vaccinated,” which was inspired by BTS’ music video of Stay Gold. True to its name, the exhibit was placed inside a room draped in golden wall covers and flooring.

There were artworks of all the BTS members inside where vaccinated Indonesians were free to take selfies with. To top it all off, the Senyum Army even played a whole BTS concert in the vaccination site to entertain everyone while they waited for their inoculation.

Selly Wilson, a spokesperson for the Indonesian BTS ARMY had the following words to say, “We will help to make the vaccination drive be more accessible to all citizens so that all BTS Army alongside their families and friends can be protected during this pandemic. We hope that the vaccination drive can quickly break the spread of COVID-19 so that we can all return to our normal activities.”
