How to Look Amazing on a Long Haul Flight

Be fashionable yet snuggly enough for your next long haul flight!

Few travellers enjoy long-haul flights for the obvious reasons. In fact, most of us avoid it like a plague.

To help you make the best out of your lengthy journey, we’ve come up with some tips and tricks on how to look amazing on a long haul flight. We truly believe that if you look good on the outside, you’ll feel good on the inside. So put a little more thought into your outfit choice and try not look like a homeless person… like every other uninformed person does.

It will go a long way, we promise you.

Sunglasses

Yes, we know you’re not technically out in the sun but these will help you look good from the time you enter the airport to the time you find your seat on the plane. Not only will it up your fashion street cred, it’ll will help you with some privacy when you snooze on the flight.

Basically you’ll want to keep your tops as loose as possible, while steering clear from the homeless look. Because of the long arduous hours you’ll be spending in that small space, you’ll want to be as comfortable as you can. Loose cotton t-shirts are the best in my opinion. Plus, a white plain tee matches with anything and everything.

Pants

You can go with two options: sweatpants (keep to black, or grey) or jeggings/jeans. They will go a long way in helping you to stay warm. Or rather, they’ll prevent you from freezing your butts off. You’ll thank your lucky stars for them when you start to realize you still have nine more hours to go before you touch down and when your teeth have already started to chatter.

Layering pieces

I swear by layers because they’re so versatile. You take them off when you’re feeling hot and you put them back on if you’re feeling cold. Plus they make you look twice as chic as you would if you only had on a basic top and jeans. The key in pulling this off is to work with patterns or try a jacket that gives your outfit an edge (i.e. a leather jacket).

Layering is key because not only does it help you to look like you actually put in some effort into your dressing, but it also keeps you warm and snuggly when you start to get cold. Don’t shy away from scarves too!

Shoes

Try to keep to your comfort go-to’s like sneakers, sandals or flats. They’re comfy and easy to remove! Your feet will expand a little when you are high up in the air, so sometimes it’s more comfortable to remove your shoes mid-flight. But keep them stylish so that the effort put into curating your outfit doesn’t go to waste!

One more thing: on top of your choice in wardrobe, you might want to bring along a lip balm. The low humidity of the airplanes will get your lips dry! So keep those lips nice and soft and look effortlessly cool while you sit through four consecutive in-flight movies.

If you keep all these tips and tricks in mind, you’ll emerge from the long haul flight unscathed. We know it can get a tad depressing just thinking about spending so many hours on a plane. But just imagine all the fun that awaits you beyond the landing strip!

If you find yourself on an economy long haul flight, here are some travel hacks that will definitely help you prepare for the long journey.
