Bali Plans to Impose Tourist Tax

If you have plans to travel to Bali in the near future, don’t be surprised if you’re asked to pay a tourist tax, reported to be around US$10!

Though it was announced earlier this year by Wayan Koster, the Bali governor, there are still no concrete plans for it yet, including the means of collecting it. What we do know is that the levy will go towards preserving its environment and culture.

The popular Indonesian island resort welcomed a whopping 8.3million visitors in 2018, with Chinese and Australian travellers forming the majority.
