Airlines Waive Fees for Flight Changes Following Bangkok Bombing

Following the bombing incidents in Bangkok, Airlines in Singapore are waiving fees to change flights to and from Bangkok.

SINGAPORE: Following the aftermath of the 2 bomb blasts in Bangkok on Monday evening (Aug 17), Singapore Airlines (SIA), Jetstar Asia, Tigerair Singapore, Scoot, Thai Airways and Cathay Pacific will waive fees for customers wanting to change flights to and from Bangkok.

SIA Fees Waived

Singapore Airlines has published an official announcement on its website, stating that it will waive fees for re-bookings or re-routings, for customers holding confirmed tickets on SIA flights arriving in or departing from Bangkok. The waiver is valid for tickets issued on or before 18 August 2015, for travel to/from Bangkok up to 17 September 2015. The new travel should commence by 30 October 2015.

Low-cost carrier Scoot has also announced on its website that it will waive change fee for re-bookings or re-routings to another destination operated by Scoot, for customers holding tickets on Scoot (TZ) flights arriving in or departing from Bangkok. The waiver of change fee is valid for bookings made on or before 17 August 2015, for travel to/from Bangkok up to 17 September 2015, subject to the following:

· The new travel should commence by 30 October 2015;
· Fare difference top up may be applicable;
· Valid for Scoot (TZ) and Tigerair Singapore (TR) flights to/from Bangkok, including mixed carrier (Scoot-Tigerair Singapore) flights; and
· Valid for Scoot marketed flights only

Travellers that are looking to change or cancel a reservation to/from Bangkok are advised by the respective airlines to call in to make these changes.

All flights between Singapore and Bangkok are operating as scheduled.
