Singapore has once again been named the safest country in the world, specifically to walk alone at night, according to Gallup’s Global Safety Report 2025!

An impressive 98% of Singaporeans said they feel safe walking after dark, making this the 12th time the city-state has topped the global rankings.

The report highlights Singapore’s strong public order, low crime rate, and effective law enforcement as key factors behind this consistent achievement. Notably, both men (98%) and women (97%) reported feeling secure — a rare level of gender parity in perceptions of safety.
Hot on Singapore’s heels are Tajikistan (95%), followed by China and Oman (both 94%).
