Who doesn’t love a good bowl of pasta? With this viral eight-ingredient recipe, you can make your own cheesy pasta dish right in the comfort of your own home. The rich tanginess from the feta cheese pairs surprisingly well with the smokiness of the grilled tomatoes. Combine it with springy fresh pasta, and you won’t be surprised as to why this dish became viral on TikTok.

  • 1 block (200g) of feta cheese
  • 600g of cherry tomatoes
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • Salt and pepper

  • 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  • 250g of pasta of choice

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°c.
  2. In a casserole dish, toss your cherry tomatoes in olive oil. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Place a block of feta cheese in the middle of the casserole dish and drizzle some olive oil on top.
  4. Place the casserole dish in the oven. Leave it in for about 30–40 minutes, until the cheese has turned golden brown and the tomatoes have burst.

Nutritious and refreshing, this recipe is ideal for a hot summer day.

The perfect tortilla wrap is now achievable thanks to this viral TikTok recipe. The secret: Making a single cut in the wrap. Just place your ingredients in each corner of the wrap, fold, and place it in the toaster oven or on a frying pan. Ta-da! The perfect savoury breakfast, ready in minutes. While this recipe is for a grilled chicken crunchwrap, you can customise it however you want. I’ve even seen some people incorporate instant noodles, cheese, and kimchi into their wraps!

  • Tortilla wrap
  • Shredded cheese
  • Shredded lettuce
  • Grilled chicken strips
  • Nacho chips

  1. Take out a piece of tortilla wrap.
  2. Cut a line from the center of the tortilla down to the bottom edge.
  3. Place each ingredient on each of the quarters of the tortilla wrap.
  4. From the bottom left quarter, fold upwards.
  5. Fold it to the right.
  6. Fold it to the bottom right.
  7. Grill on medium heat on both sides, until the cheese melts.

5. Pancake Cereal

Can’t decide if you want pancakes or cereal for breakfast? With this viral recipe, you can enjoy both at the same time! Pancakes and cereal are my top breakfast foods, so I had to try this recipe when it first started making waves on TikTok. If you make them right, the mini pancakes will be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can pair it with butter and syrup, or even pour in your milk just like you would with cereal. Personally, I prefer butter and syrup – just because the milk makes the pancakes turn soggy really fast.

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp of granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp of butter
  • Oil

  1. Pour the wet ingredients (milk, eggs, butter) into a bowl. Whisk.
  2. Add in the dry ingredients. Whisk.
  3. Pour the batter into a piping bag. If you don’t have a piping bag, you can use a teaspoon.
  4. Heat a pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Grease the pan with a thin layer of oil.
  6. Using either a piping bag or a teaspoon, drop the batter into the pan.
  7. Once they start to bubble, flip the pancakes. They should be golden brown on each side.
  8. Pour the mini pancakes into a bowl and serve with milk, or butter and syrup.

6. Baked Oats

On the hunt for a nutritious breakfast that tastes like dessert? It’s time to try your hand at baked oats! Baked oats taste just like a cake that’s fresh out of the oven — and who can turn down cake for breakfast? From peanut butter to Nutella, different flavours of baked oats will surely tempt even the pickiest of eaters. Try the recipe below if you’re a fan of chocolate!

  • ½ cup of rolled/quick oats
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp of baking powder
  • 1 tbsp of maple syrup
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • 1 tbsp of cocoa powder

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°c.
  2. In a blender, combine all the ingredients until it becomes a smooth paste.
  3. Pour the batter into an oven-safe dish or pan. Leave it in the oven for 20–25 minutes.
  4. Let it cool for about 10 minutes.

  4. Add in heavy cream and chili flakes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Stir.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Cook 2 cups of pasta in salted water. Reserve ¼ cup of the pasta water.
  8. Drain the pasta and pour it into the sauce. Mix in the pasta water 1 tbsp of butter. Stir.
  9. Add in the parmesan cheese. Mix.

8. Magic Shell Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls are delicious, but sometimes we just need an extra something to zhush it up. I don’t know about you, but I feel that having to crack something open always makes what’s on the inside 10 times better. This magic shell is a layer of chocolate that you need to crack open to get to your smoothie. Not only does it add some fun to your meal; you also get some extra chocolate pieces in your bowl. Who can complain about that?

  • 2 tbsp of coconut oil
  • 2 cups of frozen fruit of your choice
  • 2 tbsp of cocoa powder
  • ½ cup of milk of your choice
  • 2 tsp of honey

  1. In a blender, combine the frozen fruit and milk. Pour mixture into a bowl.
  2. Melt the coconut oil.
  3. In another bowl, mix the coconut oil, honey, and cocoa powder.
  4. Spread the chocolate mix over the smoothie bowl.
  5. Let the chocolate cool until it hardens. Serve.
