Son Doong Cave located in Quang Binh province of Vietnam is the world’s largest cave. It’s so large, even a 40-storey skyscraper could fit within its walls. It interestingly contains a jungle where monkeys and flying foxes live and a river that sustains life inside.

“Son Doong” means “mountain river cave” which was created million years ago by the river eroding away the limestone underneath the mountain. The cave entrance was discovered by a local in 1991 but the entire cave was explored by British cavers in 2009. Cave tours have already started this year but due to its global popularity all schedules for 2014 were fully-booked.
