Maunsell Forts: A Glimpse of the Bloody World War II

Take a historic glimpse of the bloody World War II with these fortified Maunsell Forts off the east coast of England.

Maunsell Forts

This small group of army style forts, collectively called the Red Sands, are part of the Maunsell Forts designed and created during World War II to defend the United Kingdom. Other groups of forts were scattered off the east coast of England where enemy invasions can happen.

These forts seem fortified and strong enough to ward off enemies but they are no longer functioning like how they were operated as army and navy forts back in World War II. Currently, there is a project to help preserve and maintain these old forts because they are considered important relics of the world war era.
