Dubbed as the most anticipated arts and culture festival in the US, Burning Man has officially kicked off yesterday. The event begins on the last Monday in August and ends on the first Monday in September. It takes its name from the ritual burning of a large wooden effigy, which is set alight on Saturday evening.

This week-long annual event is considered to be one of the most unique festivals in the world. Participants get to express themselves freely and fearlessly in a pop-up town that is creatively installed in the middle of Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.
