Christmas markets are undeniably dominating Europe these days and we’ve already featured a few of them – Germany’s Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt, Denmark’s Hans Christian Andersen Christmas Market and Belgium’s Winter Wonders. Switzerland also boasts its largest Christmas market in the city of Basel, a special city where the Swiss, French and German borders meet!
The market has officially kicked off last Novermber 27 at Barfüsserplatz and Münsterplatz, down the city centre. A wide array of goods and gift ideas are displayed in small, rustic wooden chalets. Local culinary delights such as waffles, gingerbread and sausages will also tickle your taste buds while exploring this quaint Christmas market. Basel Christmas market runs until December 23, so join in the fun before it ends.
