Grab is mainly a taxi-hailing app which started in 2012. It operates in the Southeast Asian region including Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Over the years, it expanded into other services for motorbikes and even private-owned vehicles.
Lyft, on the other hand, is the fastest growing rideshare company in the US and was founded in 2012. It operates in more than 200 US cities, and it aims to reconnect people and communities through better transportation.
The partnership between Grab and Lyft is the first two-way rideshare integration ever. A roaming feature will allow travellers to access local on-demand rides without worrying about local currencies, language or even downloading a new app and setting up new payment details.
Grab users can use the app in the U.S., and Lyft users can also use the app in over 30 cities across six countries in Southeast Asia.
Now, transportation has become even more reliable and convenient thanks to Grab and Lyft!
