Bangkok’s New MRT Blue Line is Free Until 28 September 2019

Now you can go straight to Chinatown!

Regular travellers to Bangkok rejoice, for the new extension on the Blue Line has started operations! Well, sort of – it is currently in its trial phase, and commuters get to travel on the new extension free until September 28. The official launch is set to be on 12 August.

The new stations are:

  • Wat Mangkon
  • Sam Yot
  • Sanam Chai
  • Itsaraphap
  • Tha Phra

The best part of this addition means that the once largely inaccessible Chinatown can now be reached without having to resort to tuk-tuks or taxis (the pain of the traffic jam is real, guys).
