When you travel alone, you call all the shots. You can go where you want when you want without being dragged around or having to wait for someone else. You can increase in confidence

Knowing that you have travelled alone, having planned and orchestrated your entire adventure from start to finish with no one else’s help, can be a major confidence booster. You can do it!

If you can travel independently half-way around the world, just think what other amazing things you might be capable of doing! Confidence will also come, though it is a cliché, from finding yourself. Travelling alone really does give you the time and space you need to do just that. Travelling alone you soon learn exactly how many amazing things you are capable of achieving. You can and will learn a whole raft of new things, expanding your knowledge and plumbing new depths of fortitude and self-reliance.

You can navigate a strange city on your own. You can dine alone. You can make decisions without anyone else’s input. You can get lost and then find yourself again. You can adapt to circumstances outwith your control. One you have done these things the world is your oyster. Your self-reliance is a tool that will serve you extremely well in all areas of your life.

Travelling with someone else, it is never quite so easy to meet new people. When you are travelling on your own, you will find that you are in fact seldom solitary. Be open and friendly and you will find that you can make new friends and truly feel part of a global community.

So, be brave! Fear is your friend and nothing wonderful comes too easily. Once you get out there you will soon find that you are not scared to travel alone at all, that you were born to travel. It is then that you will have some of the best adventures of your lifetime.
