Philippines-Singapore Travel Cost: A Guide on VTL Expenses

With Singapore launching its Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) with the Philippines, fully vaccinated travellers from the Philippines can now enjoy quarantine-free entry to the Lion City. Eligible travellers can now enter Singapore, granted that all essential travel requirements are met. To make planning your trip easier, we’ve come up with an estimation for your Philippines – Singapore VTL cost. 

As of the moment, only the following airlines have been approved to operate Philippines – Singapore VTL flights: Singapore Airlines, Scoot, AirAsia, Jetstar Asia, Philippine Airlines, and Cebu Pacific. Furthermore, we suggest inquiring and confirming with your preferred airline if you wish to travel on designated VTL flights.

Travel to the Philippines from Singapore

A one-way ticket for adults starts at S$200 (~₱7,640) on average. On top of airfares, visitors planning to travel to the Philippines from Singapore must undergo a COVID-19 test. All travellers must take the pre-departure COVID-19 test two days before their scheduled flight. 

Moreover, only an RT-PCR test or a professionally administered Antigen Rapid Test (ART) are recognised pre-departure COVID-19 tests. Depending on the country of origin, these mandatory tests can range from S$100 to S$200 (~₱3,820). 

Upon arrival in the Philippines, tourists need not undergo a COVID-19 test nor book accredited accommodations for quarantine. Nevertheless, tourists must self-monitor for symptoms and may avail self-test kits in the Philippines if deemed necessary. Antigen testing kits typically cost around S$10 to S$25 (~₱350 to ₱960).

Other things to take note

In order to enter quarantine-free to the Philippines, travellers must have a travel insurance with a minumum coverage of S$47,750. This is to ensure coverage for COVID-19 treatment costs, valid for the entire duration of your stay.

Travel to Singapore from the Philippines

A single journey ticket for adults on the VTL starts at ₱3,500 (~S$90) on average. On top of airfares, all tourists planning travel to Singapore from the Philippines must undergo a pre-departure COVID-19 test. All travellers must take the test 48 hours before the scheduled flight. 

Note though, that an RT-PCR test or a professionally administered antigen rapid test (ART) are the only recognised pre-departure COVID-19 tests. These typically range from ₱350 to ₱960 (~S$10 to S$25).

Upon arrival at the Changi International Airport, travellers will have 24 hours to undergo a post-departure COVID-19 test (supervised ART). These are available at Quick Test Centres (QTC) in Singapore, which usually costs around ₱575 (~S$15). Other things to take note

While tourists are not required to undergo daily ART self-testing, COVID-19 at-home test kits are available for ₱192 (S$5). To ensure a safe Philippines – Singapore travel, tourists must self-monitor for symptoms and follow through with COVID-19 safety measures. This means wearing face masks and observing physical distance in all public spaces at all times. 

Additionally, all short-stay travellers entering Singapore will need to take note of the travel insurance policy with a minimum coverage of S$30,000 against COVID-19. Generally, this will cost between ₱690 to ₱3830 (~S$18 to S$100).
