Visually obvious elements of the house include the wooden facade and metallic roofs but the architectural design is not commonly seen anywhere. The overall structure has that fantasy feel especially that it’s nested in the middle of a forested setting. This is just one of the many wooden tserkvas or the Eastern Catholic / Orthodox churches scattered in the Carpathian Region of Poland and Ukraine.
Due to their historical and religious significance, these wooden tserkvas were included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites last 2013. The structure and design of the wooden tserkvas reflect the culture and tradition of the religious communities in the region bordering the countries of Poland and Ukraine. Visiting the group of wooden tserkvas will transport you back to the life in the 16th century.
