Largest Flaming Image World Record

Thousands of people gathered in Oton, Iloilo last April and lit 56,680 candles, breaking the previous record holder, Pakistan, with 35,478 candles in 2009.

The huge flaming image depicted the logo of the Middle Way Meditation Institute, with the phrase ‘World Peace Through Inner Peace’, a map of the Philippines and the words ‘The Philippines 2014’. The theme song written and sung by Howard McCrary and Gretchell Yeung has a strong message that “war begins in a furious mind, true peace begins in a still mind”.

Everyone joined forces to make this event successful. What’s more amazing is that Filipinos were not the only participants. Thais and other nationalities also gave their support to set the record for the largest flaming image in the world.
