The UNESCO World Heritage City of Georgetown in Penang, Malaysia is proud to celebrate the biggest Chinese New Year in Southeast Asia. While CNY 2015 is internationally celebrated on February 19, Penangites’ CNY Celebration will take place from February 28 to March 1.

The first day celebration called “Street Humanities” will offer visitors a chance explore more than 20 historical clan houses or temples located in the heritage precinct of Georgetown for free. It will also feature over 100 food stalls, vibrant street performances and interesting exhibitions and demonstrations of dying traditional arts like dough figurine-making and woodcarving. The second day’s “Cultural Extravaganza” will highlight dragon dance on stilts, gymnastics, sign language performance, retro Chinese music from the 60s, fireworks display and a whole lot more!
