Countdown Guide: Where to Catch the New Year’s Eve 2020 Fireworks in Singapore

Here are the best spots to view the 2020 New Year's Eve fireworks that will be dazzling Singapore's skies at Marina Bay, Fort Siloso and Universal Studios!

Once again, another year is going to end and what better way to start the new one than with a bang? On one of the few occasions where you can catch spectacular displays of fireworks, these are the best spots in Singapore you should camp out at for a good view!

Best spots to catch fireworks at Marina Bay

1. The Float @ Marina Bay

The Float at Marina Bay will be hosting a 90-minutes fireworks musical show by Star Island Singapore. It will also feature spectacular fire shows and ballet performances, making it a family-friendly event perfect to bring your kids to.

2. Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade

You can get a good view of the fireworks from anywhere along Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade. Just make sure you get there early so you can get an obstructed view and seats!

3. Marina Bay Sands (MBS) and Helix Bridge

Planning on splurging and pampering yourself for the new year? Book a room from MBS to get a view like this (image below).  The Helix bridge also sits at the midpoint between the floating platform and the hotel, making it one of the best viewing spots. Do note that it will have some parts cordoned off for crowd control, so do check beforehand.

4. Marina Square

Arguably a local favourite, you can watch fireworks from Marina’s Square foodcourt. They have full-length glass windows from ceiling to floor, displaying a full unobstructed view of MBS and The Float. The perk? this view comes entirely free too! Do be courteous by getting at least a drink to book your seats by the window, though. Pro tip: Be there at least an hour in advance for a good spot!

5. Marina Barrage

Although a little further off from the actual firework displays, you can still enjoy views of the fireworks from the reservoir. The Marina Barrage features an open-air green rooftop with multiple solar panels to power lighting of the building. Fly a kite and have a picnic while watching the last sunset of the year before preparing for fireworks.

6. Singapore Flyer

If you are lucky enough, your cabin will be perfectly positioned with an obstructed view of the city and fireworks. To complete the experience, choose to have a table set up with gourmet food for the evening. Yummy!

7. Kinki Restaurant and Bar

We can’t forget to mention that there will be several bars holding New Year’s Eve parties and countdowns. Kinki, in particular, has an open rooftop bar which will give you exclusive access to the view of the fireworks.

8. Stadium Riverside Walk @ Singapore Sports Hub

Like the Marina Barrage, this spot is quite a distance away from the countdown but you can still view fireworks, especially if you can get a good angle.  As you can see from the picture below, you will also get a view of the city lited up, with the flyer and MBS on the left.

Other than Marina Bay fireworks, there will also be fireworks at the various 2020 New Year’s Eve countdown parties happening in Singapore.

9. Mount Faber

Gather a group of friends (but not more than six) and book your own private cabin for S$498+. The package also comes with champagne, sparkling juice and a chocolate platter! Over the course of three trips, you will be guaranteed a view of beautiful fireworks over Faber Peak.

10. Siloso Beach Party

With DJs, drinks and blasts of vibrant fireworks, party hard as you bid farewell to 2019 and kick off the New Year. Make no mistake, this is a countdown beach party; so if for a more ‘comfortable’ option, go for the VIP tickets which comes with three complimentary drinks and exclusive access to some bars and restrooms.

11. Vivocity Skypark

You can also catch the fireworks from Siloso Beach Party on the roof of Vivocity or Broadwalk. Families will be entertained with the children’s pool and party-goers can take their pick from the multiple bars available.
