ElaineThis October, the skies above Batam will glow with thousands of lanterns as the island hosts the inaugural Sky Lantern Festival 2025. Held from 1 Oct 2025 to 6 Oct 2025 at Green Rose Hotel Batam, the six-night celebration is free to enter and promises a vibrant mix of culture, entertainment, and culinary delights.
Organised by Singapore-based Versa Events, the festival will transform the hotel grounds with illuminated lantern displays, live music, cultural performances, carnival games, and an impressive fireworks show.

At the heart of the festival is the magical lantern release. Guests will light and release lanterns into the night sky. Though in a sustainable twist, each lantern will remain tethered to a string. This will ensure that it can be retrieved and kept as a keepsake. The evenings will be hosted by a lively line-up including MC Dedy Satria, MC Dilza Salsabila, and guest host MC Tedy Fu. There will also be live music from Harmony Music Entertainment setting the mood.
Food is also a big part of the experience. The Food & Carnival Zone, curated by Singapore F&B group Supreme In Taste, will showcase a wide range of local and international flavours. Perfect for festival-goers to enjoy between performances and activities.
Getting There
Located at Green Rose Hotel, Sungai Panas Batam Kota, Riau Islands 29444 Indonesia. The festival grounds are easily accessible by Grab, taxi, or public transport.

The admission for the event is free; however, if you wish to release a lantern, you would have to purchase a festival kit. The festival kit includes 1 Lantern Kit and 1 Mini Firework for the event.
For Singaporean visitors, Versa Events has partnered with NZ Tours & Travels Batam to offer convenient tour packages starting from S$178 per adult. These include return ferry tickets, transport, hotel accommodation, and even a one-day city tour.
