Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea to Raise Ticket Prices for Adults

Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea to Increase Ticket Prices for Adults in 2020

Stay strong, adults!

It turns out there’s a difference between being young and just young-at-heart! Two of Japan’s most beloved theme parks, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, have announced that they will increase ticket prices for adults and older children starting 1 Apr 2020.

One-day passes for adults will cost ¥8,200 (US$75), which is ¥700 more than the old price of ¥7,500.

For children between the ages of 12 and 17, a day pass will cost ¥6,900 (US$63), up from ¥6,500.

Meanwhile, tickets for children between the ages of four and 11 will stay the same at ¥4,900 (US$45)

For Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, the annual passes for adult visitors will also be raised to ¥68,000 (US$621), going up by ¥6,000 from the former cost of ¥62,000.

Still, there’s a silver lining to these changes. Both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will offer discounted tickets for guests with disabilities — set at ¥6,600 (US$60) for ages 18 and up, ¥5,500 (US$50) for ages 12 to 17, and ¥3,900 (US$36) for ages four to 11

According to the resort’s operating company, Oriental Land, the new price hike reflects the costs of staff training and the expansion of new facilities. Moreover, this decision coincides with their plans to open a Beauty and the Beast-themed attraction by Apr 2020.
