Just a normal wet market? Think again. The Maeklong Train Market is the only market in the entire world in which a train runs directly through several times a day. Located about an hour and a half’s drive from Bangkok, it is often called the “Risky Market”. The tracks are located dangerously close to wet market stalls and within minutes before the train arrives, street vendors scramble off the tracks, pushing their umbrellas off and moving their things away.
This is a very unique experience for tourists who flock the area just to catch a glimpse of the feat. It is however, completely normal in the eyes of the Thai, who simply want to sell as much as possible before the next train arrives!
