The Great Blue Hole – It’s More Than What Meets The Eye!

Great Blue Hole

Situated off the coast of Belize, Central America, the Great Blue Hole, is one of the best scuba diving sites in the world. It is part of the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System which was considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Imagine diving into a 407-foot deep circular hole and be surrounded by several species of marine life including the midnight parrotfish, bull sharks, hammerheads, and other common fish species. Not only that, the hole itself is also an opening to a system of caves. Huge and spectacular formations of stalagmites and stalactites can be found underneath.  The deeper you go, the formations become denser and the water becomes clearer. The Great Blue Hole is too great a place to be described in a few words. See it for yourself and it will ultimately leave you speechless.
