Japan Airlines Is Giving Away 100,000 Domestic Flight Tickets Across Japan — For Free

You will love what Japan has up its sleeves (or wings).

Some very fortunate travellers will stand a chance of a lifetime to win a trip with Japan Airlines (JAL). The national carrier launching a generous promotion will offer 50,000 domestic return tickets to international visitors to fly for free to select local destinations from Haneda Airport in Tokyo, as well as Itami and Kansai airports in Osaka.

Tourism is a major economic drive in Japan. In 2018, Japan saw a staggering 31 million international travellers according to Tourism Japan Data. However, most of these visitors flock to major tourism hotspots such as Tokyo and Kyoto.

The campaign launched by JAL aims to encourage travellers to ‘see Japan with fresh eyes’ and ‘discover a new Japanese city’ during the Tokyo Olympics which is scheduled to take place from July 24 to August 9.

Travellers will have to be prepared to embark on an adventure as the free round-trip flight will be to a surprise destination. Upon application, you can select from 4 possible destinations after which the surprise destination will be revealed within 3 days.

Eager? Application kicks off late February 2020. However, there are some important things to take note of: the promotion will be valid for travel between July 1 and September 30, 2020 only to those who hold residence outside Japan.

And of course, there’s a catch. You’ll need to be a member of the Japan Airlines Mileage Bank to participate. Flights will depart from and return to Tokyo Haneda or Osaka Itami/Kansai only.

There are only a limited number of available seats, so try your luck and see where it takes you! Find out more at https://www.jal.co.jp/en/jmb/japan-promotion/.
