Han So-Hee Plays a Revenge-Driven Woman in ‘My Name’

Han So-Hee Plays a Revenge-Driven Woman in ‘My Name,’ Premiering October on Netflix

This features a different skill set of the actress we haven't seen before.

K-drama fans were introduced to Han So-hee through her romantic roles of Yeo Da-gyeong in The World of the Married and Yu Na-bi in Nevertheless. Now, we get to see her in a completely different character in the upcoming Netflix series My Name.

This action-packed K-drama follows the story of Han So-hee’s character Jiwoo, who’s described as a revenge-driven woman joining a crime ring as an undercover police officer. On a quest to find her father’s killer, Jiwoo will stop at nothing to get revenge. The teaser poster sums up the series with the caption: “No one can know. My enemy, my revenge.”

The image depicts Han So-hee holding a bloody knife. She herself is all blood-stained and grimy in a dark alleyway where other people seem to have been knocked unconscious or even stabbed dead. According to the Netflix press release, Han So-hee performed the action scenes herself and was very convincing in portraying a woman who willingly becomes a mole in the police force to infiltrate the criminal underworld.

Jiwoo’s journey will lead her to brutal truths, but will that stop her from avenging her father? We’ll have to watch My Name to see how this thriller unfolds. My Name was directed by Kim Jin-min. Aside from Han So-hee, the K-drama will star Park Hee-soon, Ahn Bo-hyun, Kim Sang-ho, Lee Hak-ju, and Jang Yull. Catch My Name on 15 Oct 2021 on Netflix!
