How to buy an ETS Ticket online

Step 1: Visit the Official ETS Booking Portal

The safest way to buy your tickets is through the official KTMB e-ticketing site: ktmb.com.my. Here, you can book your JB Sentral ETS tickets securely.

Step 2: Search for Trains from JB Sentral

Once logged in (can use Facebook or Google accounts):

  1. Select JB Sentral as your departure station.
  2. Choose your destination city (Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Butterworth, etc.).
  3. Pick your travel date and number of passengers.
  4. Click Search Trains.

  • ETS Gold – faster with fewer stops, ideal for business travellers.

  • ETS Platinum – premium class with extra comfort and space

There are several departure times to and from JB Sentral daily, from early morning until nighttime. Depending on the seats selected (normal or Business seats), the price ranges from around RM66 to RM162 (~S$21 to S$52). Once selected your preferred seats, click “Confirm Seats” and move on to the next step.

Step 4: Enter Passenger Details

  • Malaysians: use your NRIC number.

  • Foreigners/Singaporeans: It’s mandatory to fill in your passport number.

Ensure your ticket information matches the ID you present for smooth boarding at JB Sentral.

Step 5: Select Your Insurance Plan (Optional)

You can choose to add a basic or premium insurance plan for your trip. Both packages offer comprehensive coverage for your trip, including compensation for trip cancellation, accidental death, and personal luggage loss or damage. The cost is only RM1 to RM1.50 (~S$0.32 to S$0.47).

  • DuitNow QR (Malaysian accounts)

After payment, you’ll receive an e-ticket via email. Save a digital copy or print it for boarding.
