Thieves Are Targeting Luggage in Hong Kong’s Airport Buses

Don’t let your guard down after a flight to Hong Kong as there could be robbers eyeing your luggage on the airport bus to the city.

Travelling to Hong Kong soon? Be extra careful if you’re taking the city-bound airport buses, as there are thieves targeting the luggage compartments on these buses.

The rise in thefts on airport buses coincides with a decrease in mid-air thefts, and its nature suggests that it is the work of a well-organised crime syndicate. It is therefore likely that these crime syndicates are shifting their focus from overhead luggage compartments on flights to those on airport buses.

According to South China Morning Post, many travellers have turned into victims of such thefts of late and the police are aware and increasingly concerned about this problem.

How do you prevent this from happening to you? Don’t store your bags at the luggage compartment on the lower level of the double-decker bus and take a seat upstairs as your luggage will be out of sight. It is simply not worth the risk and you don’t want to start your trip on such a terrible note!
