By 2020, travelling between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur (KL) will be more convenient than ever! The planned high-speed rail will cut journey time between the two cities from 5 hours (by driving) to 2.5 hours (including waiting time, transfers and immigration clearance), giving both locals and tourists more incentives to make the trip.

The proposed Malaysia stops were recently announced, with the stops being Seremban, Ayer Keroh (Malacca), Muar, Batu Pahat and Nusajaya in Johor. This means that you can easily spend the day shopping in Kuala Lumpur, head to Malacca for dinner, and return to Singapore in time for supper! Both the express service and transit trains, which make stops at the various cities, will be made available.
The high-speed rail is also expected to enjoy an annual ridership of 17.9 million by its 10th year of operation.
For now, explore the best of Singapore and Malaysia while waiting for the high-speed rail to be up!
