With a beauty so divine, this place must be the heaven on earth. Wat Rong Khun, also popularly known as the White Temple, is one of the most exceptionally beautiful temples in Chiang Rai, Thailand designed by Chalermchai Kositpipat in 1997. The temple may not be as old as the other ancient temples, but its intricate and unique architecture charms every visitor.

No matter how grand and invincible the temple may seem, it is still vulnerable to natural disasters. Sadly, on May 5 this year, Wat Rong Khun was damaged by the earthquake that struck the province. It was closed to public indefinitely but Chalermchai promised to devote his life to restore the grandeur of the once impeccable temple. Today, visitors are only allowed to take pictures from the outside until everything is refurbished.
Visit Thailand to get a glimpse of the temple before it’s totally gone.
