Christmas is really fast approaching! Towering Christmas trees, spectacular lights and fantastic decorations are sprouting across the globe. Brazil has already kick-started the Christmas season by lighting up the world’s tallest floating Christmas tree at Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon in Rio de Janeiro last November 29.

Officially certified by the Guinness World Records, this 278-foot Christmas tree illuminated by more than three million lights is by far the tallest and largest of its kind in the world. This year’s theme “A Christmas of Light” will celebrate the importance and significance of light in the lives of the people.

If you missed this year’s opening ceremony, fret not, the tree will remain lighted until January 6 and here’s the grand fireworks display for you to enjoy.
