A One-Day Itinerary for Exploring Sentosa & Its Surrounds – via Cable Car!

Nostalgia and adventure – the perfect recipe for a day out in Singapore.

The festive season is fast approaching, and you might just be wondering how to spend your precious holidays with your loved ones in Singapore. Well, we’ve got the ideal itinerary for you! This guide maps out three stunning locations you should definitely visit, and getting from one place to another is a total breeze with Singapore’s very own cable car. Dating all the way back to 1974, Singapore’s cable cars offer visitors an incredibly nostalgic and novel experience!

So just sit back, relax and find out how you can enjoy Singapore via cable car. Since the ride is such an experience by itself, you will really be killing two birds with one stone!

1. Get back to nature at Mount Faber

Even though it is one of the oldest parks in Singapore, Mount Faber has never ceased to lose its charm. Located on the outskirts of the business district, this park is filled with lush greenery – a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the city. Since the park is not very accessible via public transport, hop onto the cable car instead! The cable car ride is definitely much more convenient and promises an invigorating experience. You may board the cable car from Harbourfront Station to Mount Faber Station via the Mount Faber Line. This line also makes a stop at the Sentosa station.

When you reach Mount Faber Park, start your day off in true blue #fitspo fashion, and embark on one of the walking trails. If you are early enough, you can even catch the sunrise at the scenic Henderson Waves, and enjoy this section of the Southern Ridges with complete serenity. It’ll be the perfect zen morning.

After sweating it out, embark on one last upward trail to Faber Peak, which is another attractive destination within Mount Faber Park. There are various Al Fresco restaurants that allow you to enjoy stunning city views as you dine. Climb up a set of colourful and vibrant stairs to get to the Bell of Happiness, and even add on bells with your loved ones – don’t forget to ring it for good luck!

While you are here, check out the Cable Car Gift Shop, which is full of unique and novel souvenirs. There are so many things to choose from – adorable teddy bears, merlion plushies, a model of the Sentosa Express and many more! They are the perfect take-home gifts for a loved one.

Cable Cars on Mount Faber Line

After an eventful morning, it is time to move on to your next destination. With the cable car at your disposal, another exciting journey awaits!. Take full advantage of cable car’s high vantage point to admire a bird’s-eye view of the Harbourfront precinct’s skyline.

Beach in Sentosa

As your cable car reels across the sky, the view of your next destination will start to come into focus. It’s Sentosa, the State of FUN! It is an absolute paradise filled with a never-ending amount of things to do. Knock yourself out with the roller coaster rides at Universal Studios Singapore, or engage in something milder like the Luge or Segway rides. There are also activities that don’t require that much physical exertion, such as visiting the S.E.A Aquarium or the Madame Tussauds Museum. Also, you can’t miss out on lounging on one of your favourite beaches, and having a picnic on that soft white sand!

Cable Cars at Sentosa

Not many people know this, but you can actually also explore the various parts of Sentosa via cable car. This means you don’t have to squeeze with the crowds on the Sentosa Express! The Sentosa Line takes you to dozens of attractions – Madame Tussauds, Megazip Adventure Park, Skyline Luge Sentosa, Universal Studios Singapore and more – and makes stops at Merlion Station, Imbiah Lookout and Siloso Point Station. Get to experience Sentosa from a whole new perspective; you’ll go on a journey above jungle, sand and sea, and feast your eyes on spectacular views like no other! Getting into one these cabins and whisking from one place to another is definitely a memorable experience on its own.

Good Old Days Restaurant

You must be feeling famished after an entire day of exciting activities, and what better way to satiate that appetite than with some yummy local cuisine at the Good Old Days Restaurant? Located conveniently at the Beach Station, it is the perfect place to chill and savour some delectable delights.

Chicken Rice; Fish & Chips

A La Carte dishes

The restaurant is divided into two floors; the first offers a wide range of a-la-carte selections that include both local and international cuisine. You might be skeptical that somewhere other than a classic Singaporean hawker centre could dish out authentic local cuisine, but Good Old Days Restaurant doesn’t disappoint. They have certainly done justice to local favourites like Chicken Rice, Laksa and Nasi Briyani. When you visit with your family and friends, pick different dishes each so that you can have a taste of everything!

Buffet spread

The basement floor is reserved for a dinner buffet spread, which begins from 5.30pm onwards. Even though the variety of the spread is relatively limited, each dish is done impeccably. Be it the staple dishes of fried rice and fried noodles, or the perfectly roasted chicken leg, you won’t be able to resist going back for seconds. Desserts are also available to satisfy your sweet tooth! Enjoy good conversations with your loved ones as you enjoy some good food – what more could you ask for?

After a hearty and fulfilling meal, it is time to end your visit at the State of Fun. Once again, you hop onto the cable car and head back to the city area via the Mount Faber Line. This time, alight at Harbourfront Station for one last adventure on your day out.

3. Shop till you drop at Harbourfront

Apart from renowned brands, there are a few indie shops that sell eclectic and quirky items to pique your interest as well. You may also head outside to the spacious boardwalk, or the open-air rooftop to take in gorgeous sunset views. It’s a great way to end the day!

To make this eventful day with your loved ones a reality this holiday season, don’t miss out on One Faber Group’s Prosper & Fly Bundle or the Egg-Citing Easter Bundle!
