Nature lovers, rejoice! An eco-friendly resort operated by Banyan Tree Holdings will be opening Mandai in 2023.

The eco-friendly 400-room resort, sited on a 4.6-hectare plot of land within Mandai’s new integrated nature and wildlife park, will offer guests a range of tropical stays – standard and family rooms in low-rise structures, elevated cabins and stylish treehouses immersed in greenery.

Guests can expect comfortable hotel services while enjoying Singapore’s biodiversity within Mandai. They can also partake in activities including guided nature walks, wildlife spotting tours, recycling workshops and educational movie screenings. There’s also a nature-themed indoor attraction within the upcoming integrated nature and wildlife destination in Mandai precinct.

The resort will take specific measures to control lighting and noise emissions and they’ll use sustainable design to reduce and reuse energy, waste and water. Such energy-efficient building designs will provide natural ventilation and daylight, as well as incorporate renewable energy sources and materials with a lower carbon footprint.

”The moment we enter Mandai, we step away from the hustle and bustle of our hectic urban lifestyle, to embark on a journey of discovery. With more opportunities for overnight stays in future, we hope to create even more immersive experiences that will bring families and friends closer to nature and wildlife. It is our goal that all our guests leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation for the biodiversity around us,” said Mike Barclay, Group CEO of MPH.

The Mandai area currently consists of Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and River Safari. It will soon expand to include the Bird Park, which will be relocated from Jurong, as well as a new Rainforest Park, which will open in 2020 and 2021 respectively. The upcoming eco-friendly resort will be Banyan Tree’s first resort in Singapore.
