Another famous destination might finally reopen soon!

According to a statement from China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, travel groups organised by tour agencies in border areas can “flexibly” choose their port of entry and exit. However, they have yet to give specifics on the locations and dates. The country shares a border with over 10 countries, such as Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Mongolia, and Russia

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, foreign tourists have not been allowed to enter the country. Since then, China’s borders have only opened to specific groups of foreign nationals, such as those on work visas.

Since May 2022, the country’s entry restrictions have gradually been eased; more direct flights between China and other countries have resumed, and foreign students with valid residence permits have been granted entry. Along with these, China has shortened the mandatory quarantine for eligible foreign arrivals.
