1. Jardin des Plantes

First opened to the public in 1640, Jardin des Plantes in Paris is the main botanical garden in France. This scenic garden houses more than 10,000 plant species, some of which grow in its tropical greenhouses and alpine gardens. In spring, you can stroll through the winding paths shaded with pink and white cherry blossoms of Paris (some describe the paths as the spitting image of Alice in Wonderland’s setting) while taking in the breathtaking display of the blooming botanical garden! 

P.S. While you’re there, don’t miss the chance to visit the park’s Museum of Natural History, Grande Galerie de Evolution, and France’s oldest public zoo, La Menagerie.

Unlike the more famous gardens and parks, this hidden gem is tucked away near the Seine River and the legendary Shakespeare and Company bookstore.
