Prior to the festival, seven emerging bands from the local music scene were selected to be mentored by industry experts in a programme called Baybeats Budding Bands. Six of these bands are set to play the Baybeats stage as a cumulative final performance showcasing their craft.

Joining them are other highly-anticipated names like local midwest emo/math pop band Forests, post-rock quartet Astreal, and rap metal band Greyhoundz which hails from the Philippines.

As mentioned, this year’s instalment features four stages, highlighting the recently opened Annexe Studio as its newest addition. Choose between the indoor Chillout Stage at the Esplanade Concourse, or join the mosh pit at the Arena or Powerhouse stages by the bayfront. With genres spanning indie progressive rock to hardcore metal, you’ll definitely be able to find a band to rock out to.

Head down to the festival from 14-16 July – you can be sure it’ll be a mega celebration of the best alternative music talents of the region! More information can be found here.
