Singapore first made its Winter Olympic debut at the PyeongChang 2018 Games with short track speed skater Cheyenne Goh. After skipping the Beijing 2022 edition, Faiz Basha’s qualification marks Singapore’s second-ever appearance at the Winter Olympics and its first-ever representation in the discipline of Alpine Skiing.

Competing in one of the most physically demanding sports of the Games, Faiz is flying the Singapore flag in the Alpine Skiing events. Alpine Skiing involves racing down snow-covered slopes at high speeds, navigating through fixed gates with precision and agility.
As the only athlete from the Little Red Dot, Faiz also had the distinct honour of serving as the flagbearer for Singapore during the Opening Ceremony at the San Siro Stadium.
