Start Your Mornings Like Never Before With Singapore Zoo’s “Breakfast in the Wild”

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to dine in a restaurant with animals roaming nearby? Well, in Singapore, you could do precisely that! Specifically, in the city-famous Singapore Zoo, breakfast-goers can expect to dine at Ah Meng Restaurant with the Breakfast in the Wild program.

After a two-year hiatus, the experience has been upgraded to include an extensive menu and a 30-minute wildlife performance. You can visit on the weekends and public holidays, from 9am to 10.30am. Read on to find out what else you need to know!

A true breakfast in the wild

There are a lot of things for foodies and animal lovers to expect! You’ll find everything that will fix your cravings, from buttery pastries and savoury wraps to local staples like roti prata and you tiao. All of these meals are made with sustainably sourced ingredients like palm oil and the restaurant only serves the wildlife-friendly Owa coffee from Java, Indonesia. As beef highly impacts the environment, it is not used in any of the menu items. 

When you’re blissfully full from your meal, you can head to the interaction area from 9.30am to 10am to meet the zoo’s wildlife ambassadors. You’ll be able to meet and learn more about the zoo’s orangutans, macaws, coatimundi, and tamandua. Better yet, you can switch to the nearby photo points for a chance to pose with any of these glorious creatures! They make for incredible keepsakes, and you can purchase professionally-taken photos at the Retail Kiosk opposite Ah Meng Terrace.

For those interested in Breakfast in the Wild, you can book your breakfast experience together with your Singapore Zoo admission ticket here. The fee costs S$45 for adults, and S$35 for children aged 6 to 12. However, those who fall under these zoo membership programs are entitled to a 20% discount: Friends of Wildlife, Friends of Wildlife Plus and Friends of the Zoo. 

While they do accept walk-ins on the day, it’s highly recommended to book at least three days in advance to ensure a seat.
