Staying at Tiarasa Escapes Glamping Resort: Reviews From Guests

Things to Look Out For When Booking Your Glamping Trip

Don't book before you read this!

Escaping the hustle and bustle of the city for a glamorous staycation surrounded by nature sounds like an incredible experience, and in most cases, it is. However, a blissful getaway in nature isn’t always a positive experience, especially if you end up booking less-than-ideal accommodations that fall short of expectations.

So, before you book that long-awaited, fairytale-esque getaway in a forest, take note of these things to look out for to ensure you have a good experience. Some of them are major red flags that should be avoided at all costs!

1. Poor customer service

One of the most disheartening things about a glamping experience is running into properties with bad customer service. Whether it’s complications during the booking phase or less-than-ideal service during your stay, poor customer service can ruin your otherwise relaxing stay in the forest.

For example, while researching, we found that one of the most consistent complaints about Tiarasa Escapes Glamping Resort is the poor customer service, which seems to be an issue that has plagued the property for years.

One reviewer highlighted the lack of professionalism of the management staff and recounted how they were served beef ham despite management being aware that they do not consume beef. A few others complained about the bad service, and one guest in particular vented that they felt neglected as the staff prioritised tending to a group of celebrities who were also staying at the property at the time, even though they had also paid the same price.

Incidents like these leave a sour taste in the mouth and will easily dampen any stay.

2. A lack of onsite activities and dining options

Another red flag to look out for is properties promising more than they can deliver. After all, if you’re leaving behind the creature comforts of your home for an extended stay in a remote location, you’d want enough activities and good food to keep you occupied. Some properties advertise a ton of activities in promotional material, but often fall short of expectations when it comes time to deliver.

For instance, one guest who stayed at Tiarasa Escapes Glamping Resort was left disappointed when they realised that not all the activities advertised were readily available, and that onsite food options were extremely limited. Another guest commented on the underwhelming quality of the food, while another recounted how their food arrived cold, which seems to be a recurring trend with the resort.

one of their pre-planned activities was cancelled to accommodate other guests.

When looking for a staycation to escape the city, these are all important issues to address when booking your accommodation.

3. Uncomfortable rooms and common areas

One of the most easily overlooked things to look out for when booking a glamping experience in the forest is having a comfy room to rest in. After all, for the price you pay and the beautiful surrounding scenery, you might naturally assume that the rooms are just as amazing. Unfortunately, some properties emphasise a lot on their natural surroundings but not enough on the upkeep of their rooms.

For example, a reviewer who booked a stay at Tiarasa Escapes Glamping Resort was left disappointed at the lack of maintenance of the rooms, which looked run-down and neglected. Another highlighted that the curtains in their room were stained and dusty, which put a damper on their stay. One particular guest even found a dead frog in their room when they checked in!

While researching, we found that there were also complaints of leaky toilets, and poor soundproofing, which led to guests being disturbed. Even the common areas, such as the Game Room, was found dusty and unkempt.

If your idea of a staycation in the forest is blissful silence and rejuvenation, then these are absolute dealbreakers.

4. Poor pre-arrival communication

As they say, your getaway starts from the very moment you make your booking, so good communication during the booking process and pre-arrival is very important. However, that is something that some properties neglect.

Issues with communication during the booking phase seem to also be a recurring problem with Tiarasa Escapes Glamping Resort, which left guests frustrated and anxious about their stay. One particular guest also pointed out the complicated booking process, which felt sketchy. Further, some guests highlighted that the lack of signage or directions provided led to them having a hard time locating the property.

Meanwhile, there were also complaints about the lacklustre check-in process and lack of information provided, which left them feeling unwelcome at the property.

Final thoughts

A glamping experience surrounded by stunning ancient rainforests is an experience that most people will keep for a lifetime — if they are done right. When choosing the accommodation for your own getaway, keep in mind these red flags and choose properties that fit your fancy, and avoid those that cause more stress than relaxation.
