SnowLand JB Opens: Ice Slides, Snow Sculptures & More Near Singapore

SnowLand Johor Bahru (JB) Opening: What to Expect at Malaysia’s New Winter Wonderland Near Singapore

Melting in Singapore? Cool off with ice slides and snowfall at SnowLand JB.

You step outside and instantly regret it. The heat wraps around you like a sauna (the sweltering part, not the relaxing part), and you wish you could hop on a plane to escape from the heat. Thus is the life of any average Singaporean the moment we go out.

But hey, we’ve got some cool news that doesn’t involve an expensive plane ticket! There’s a brand new icy escape just across the causeway in Johor Bahru (JB).

Say hello to SnowLand JB, a wintry indoor playground now open at Mall of Medini. With slippery ice slides, towering ice sculptures, and actual simulated snowfall, it’s your chance to just chill out, literally.

What to expect at SnowLand JB

SnowLand isn’t just for photo ops — it’s a full-on sub-zero playground where temperatures plunge to below -10°C, making it feel like you’ve stepped into a real winter wonderland. Visitors can race down icy slides of varying lengths, with mini ones for the kids and longer slopes for those looking for a thrill.

Around the space, intricately carved ice sculptures add to the magic, featuring everything from glowing castles to familiar cartoon characters and even a lounge made entirely of ice. There’s also plenty to do beyond sightseeing, including snow bumper cars, rope-drawn sleds, and sections where artificial snowfall gently drifts down, completing the wintry atmosphere.

Since the playground isn’t massive, we reckon that about two hours inside would suffice,  making this a great addition to your JB day trip itinerary.

While rental jackets are provided with your ticket, do come prepared. Gloves, boots, and ear muffs are available for rent, but wearing your own long pants and covered shoes will go a long way in keeping you warm and comfortable. It’s also the perfect excuse to finally break out that winter coat or puffer jacket that’s been gathering dust since your last holiday (yes, you can finally be fashionable in layers without sweating buckets).

Whether you’re looking to entertain the kids, take some fun photos, or just live out your fantasy of escaping the heat, SnowLand JB offers a cool twist on the usual JB day trip. No need for plane tickets or travel planning stress. Just hop across the border, step into the cold, and pretend (for an hour or two) that you’re anywhere but tropical Southeast Asia.
