If there’s a happy house, there’s also a lonely little house found on Ellidaey Island, Iceland. This one and only house looks so haunting that many false stories have been told to explain its solitary existence. Some believed that the house was a gift from the government to the Icelandic singer Bjork. Others said it belongs to a secret millionaire or to some religious fanatic. The truth is not even close to these urban legends.

Ellidaey Island was a perfect spot for hunting puffins so in 1953, the Elliðaey Hunting Association constructed an island lodge where the members can stay during the puffin hunting season. It has no electricity but it has a soothing sauna that is perfect for the weary hunters. Unfortunately, this rustic lodge is only limited to the members of the Hunting Association but tourists are not prohibited from visiting this lovely island.
