World’s largest basket? The Longaberger “Basket Building” is a 160 times duplicate of Longaberger company’s signature product, the Medium Market Basket. It is the corporate headquarters of the Longaberger Company, who specialises in baskets, and yes, it is shaped completely like a basket.

The “Basket Building” has become a huge icon for millions of people across the world and widely attracts media attention. Located in Newark, Ohio, USA, the Basket Building is not only a unique masterpiece from the outside, but also invites great awe on its inside! The interior is equally spectacular and is centered on an atrium that rises for the entire seven stories of the building. The atrium is home to a grand staircase, a magnificent piano, lovely cherry woodwork and is completed with glass. One of the most impressive qualities about the building is its enormous handles that complete the basket appearance of the building.

First constructed in 1990, the building only opened for business in December 1997, where after the building’s mastermind, Dave Longaberger passed away the following year. Although Dave Longaberger desired to have all company buildings shaped like baskets, after his death, his daughters decided against it.

How to get here you ask? Travel State Route 16 in Newark and drop by this magnificent building. Or just check out the map down below. Go to the Longaberger Company website for more information on opening hours and tours.
