First Dog Toilet in Japan At Osaka Airport

Game-changing dog toilet for our furry friends introduced at the Osaka Airport.

Osaka International Airport (ITAMI) is making it easier for travellers journeying with their pet companion. It has set up a first-of-its-kind dog toilet in Japan, located in the airport’s pick-up and drop-off area. The pup potty comes equipped with a pee pole with self-washing functions, shower, as well as a water bowl.

The airport is optimistic that this implementation will enable dogs to relieve themselves before boarding, consequently taking some pressure off for both the pets and their owners.

If you didn’t already know, you can actually fly with your dog as checked baggage on certain flights or ship them as cargo on others. Taking your beloved canine on a well-deserved retreat might sound like a good idea, but it can actually be stressful for this unknowing pet.

Calming an anxious dog is no walk in the park either. Moreover, there is the stressful assessment by a desk agent, who is in charge of giving your pooch an appraisal to make sure it meets all the ‘airline requirements’.

Additionally, there is a designated restroom, which comes with an intercommunication system intended for service dogs that opened in December last year.  The doggo toilet will be available from 5.30am to 10.00pm daily.

Way to go ITAMI, for being dedicated to bringing greater convenience to all airport guests (not restricted to just humans as we all know now)!
