Best Budget Villas and Resorts in the Phi Phi Islands

Phi Phi Islands might've been featured in a Hollywood blockbuster, but that doesn't mean you need to splash out the big bucks on it.

The Phi Phi Islands are among Thailand’s most sought-after destinations. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the affordable accommodations are backpacker bases—there are plenty of villas and resorts at budget-friendly prices too!

The six islands of the Phi Phi cluster lie off the coast of Krabi in Southern Thailand. They are often celebrated as some of the world’s most beautiful islands, with stunning limestone karst formations that rise dramatically from emerald waters and plenty of lush greenery. The surrounding waters offer great opportunities for diving and snorkelling hotspots.

There are plenty of beautiful white sandy beaches to admire including one of Thailand’s most iconic beaches, the stunning Maya Bay (made famous in the Leonardo DiCaprio movie, “The Beach”). Other highlights include soaking up the spectacular views from Phi Phi Viewpoint, watching an awesome fire show, seeing the swiftlets and ancient paintings in Phaya Naak Cave, rock climbing, including in a traditional Thai massage, and feeling serene with a spot of yoga.

Only one island is fully commercialised and developed—Koh Phi Phi Don—so this is where you’ll find all the local accommodations. If you want to stay in style but don’t want to make your bank manager mad, check out our excellent list of the best budget villas and resorts in the Phi Phi Islands!
