From meticulous cabin upkeep to consistently polished interiors, airlines like ANA All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines have long been recognised for their attention to detail, while newer players such as STARLUX Airlines are quickly raising the bar.

While Singapore Airlines may not have claimed the top spot this year, its place in the top five reaffirms its consistently high standards in cabin cleanliness.

What Does “Cleanest Airline” Actually Mean?

The rankings are based on passenger feedback, focusing on the overall cleanliness and presentation of the aircraft cabin. This includes:

  • Seat areas and tray tables

  • Carpets and cabin panels

  • Lavatories and shared spaces

  • General upkeep throughout the flight

It’s not just about a quick tidy between flights. These scores reflect consistent standards across the entire travel experience.
