Japan trip, anyone? ZIPAIR is currently offering one-way flights from Singapore to Tokyo (Narita) from S$226 as part of its THANKS SALE, with travel dates stretching into early 2027. If Tokyo has been sitting on your travel wishlist, this might be your cue to start checking flights. Here’s what you need to know before booking.

Promotional fares were available on selected dates when we checked, although prices can fluctuate depending on seat availability. Here’s what travellers should know before hitting that book button.

ZIPAIR’s THANKS SALE runs from 29 Sep to 5 Oct 2026, Japan time, with Singapore among the eligible routes. The travel period for the Singapore route runs from 30 Sep 2026 to 28 Feb 2027, covering everything from year-end holidays to early-2027 Japan trips.

The advertised Singapore to Tokyo Narita fare starts from S$226 one-way, with taxes and fees included according to ZIPAIR’s Singapore promotional creative.

Do note that this is not a fixed price for every departure. ZIPAIR states that fares can change according to predicted seat availability on each flight. If your dates are flexible, it is worth comparing several departures before booking.

What does the S$226 fare include?

The Standard fare includes up to 7kg of carry-on baggage. Passengers can bring up to two cabin bags within ZIPAIR’s specified dimensions, as long as their combined weight does not exceed 7kg.

Travellers who need more cabin baggage can purchase an additional 8kg allowance, bringing the total to 15kg. For Singapore to Narita, this currently costs S$31 and must be purchased at least 24 hours before departure.

Checked baggage is not included in the base fare. ZIPAIR currently lists checked baggage from Singapore to Narita at S$61 per piece, with a maximum weight of 30kg per piece.

So if you can travel light, the headline fare becomes much easier to take advantage of. If your Tokyo trip is likely to end with a suitcase full of snacks, skincare and shopping, factor baggage into the final cost before booking.

Seats and meals cost extra too

ZIPAIR follows an à la carte model, so advance seat selection and inflight meals are optional paid extras. If you do not pay to choose a seat beforehand, ZIPAIR will automatically assign one during check-in.

Inflight meals can be pre-purchased online, while drinks and light snacks are also available for purchase onboard. This means the smartest way to compare the deal is to look at your final fare after adding the extras you actually need, rather than judging it on the base price alone.

One useful perk: free onboard Wi-Fi

One inclusion that may surprise travellers is complimentary in-flight internet. ZIPAIR provides free onboard internet service, although connection quality may naturally vary during the flight. For a lower-cost fare, being able to message friends or start mapping out your Tokyo plans without paying for a separate Wi-Fi package is a welcome bonus.

Never heard of ZIPAIR? Here’s who you’re flying with

If ZIPAIR is a new name to you, it is worth knowing that the airline is 100% owned by Japan Airlines. As of Jul 2026, ZIPAIR operates eight Boeing 787-8 aircraft and flies from its Tokyo Narita base to destinations including Singapore, Bangkok, Seoul, Taipei, Honolulu, Vancouver and several cities in the United States.

The airline describes itself as a “New Basic Airline”, with travellers able to customise their journey by adding services such as checked baggage, meals and advance seat selection. That also helps explain how the base fare can be kept comparatively low.

Planning a Tokyo trip? Check your dates soon

With the THANKS SALE ending on 5 Oct 2026 and travel dates available through 28 Feb 2027, this deal could be worth checking if Japan is already on your radar.

Just remember that the S$226 fare is a starting price, and your final total will depend on your travel date and any extras you add. For travellers who can keep things simple and travel light, though, this could be one of those fares worth acting on sooner rather than later.
