13 Brunch Places in Singapore Under S$20

Who says the most important meal of the day should burn a hole in your wallet?

Most of us would think of brunch places in Singapore as having a rather large price tag. It can cost upwards of S$20, and is something most of us might consider a splurge. Luckily, there are quite a number of brunch spots around our island that will set you back only less than S$20 (and this is after GST and service charge!). Best of all, these food places boast Insta-worthy interiors too, rendering your brunch outing an afternoon to be remembered.

Brunch places in Singapore Under S$15

1. Breakfast Club

This is one of my favourite brunch places in Singapore, and it’s all thanks to its location. Situated in a coffee shop in Kovan, Breakfast Club boasts a diner-themed menu and kitchen; thus, it’s really quite a unique experience to dig into an American breakfast in a local coffee shop!

Besides the traditional breakfast items of pancakes and eggs Benedict, perhaps what Breakfast Club is most known for is its Rosti. With toppings of sausage and egg (or just good ol’ plain) at less than S$9, it’s definitely one of the best affordable alternatives to Marché.

A specialty coffee place, One Man Coffee lies along a stretch of eateries on Upper Thomson Road. Best sellers include the ever-classic Eggs Benny or Kimchi Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese; as well as small bites, like the Lak & Roll (laksa prawn rolls) and “Little Wings” (seasoned with honey and paprika!).

Situated near Kallang, why not work off your calories after your meal by exploring Singapore’s promenade with a stroll or bike ride?

6. Sun Ray Cafe

Probably one of the most affordable brunch places in Singapore, Sun Ray Cafe doubles up as a pet-friendly eatery too! With multiple brunch, pasta, burger, and even vegetarian options, you can easily order a few dishes without breaking the bank at all.

My personal favourite is the Pesto Salmon Pasta, which for its price, is really strong in pesto flavour; the salmon was also crisp and seasoned to perfection! If you feel like some additional protein, top up just S$1 for an egg (cooked however you’d like). Speaking of eggs, most of their egg-based brunch items are less than S$10! (Did we mention that it’s at net price too?)

Furthermore, your furry friend won’t go hungry here — there’s a page full of menu items for them to munch on. (Some of these even sounded much yummier than food meant for humans, not gonna lie).

Aside from the (obvious) treat for your eyes, Joji’s Diner serves up Instagrammable yet affordable brunch items too! For instance, the All Star Plate is their take on an All American Breakfast and is a real show-stealer on your plate; if you’re craving something sweet, try their PBNJ. 8. Shen & Co Cafe

Shen & Co is a retro-themed affordable brunch place in Singapore. It’s located in the Upper Bukit Timah area, and serves up a variety of menu items! These include typical brunch options like breakfast platters, pancakes and thick toasts.

For something heartier, choose from their main dishes and finger food instead! Also, don’t forget to order a cup of Joe or a homemade infusion quencher to complement your meal.

9. The Bread Shop

Perhaps my favourite brunch place in Singapore, The Bread Shop is a quaint eatery that also calls Kovan its home. Not only are their dishes flavourful and hearty, their drinks are the right amount of sweet and decadent. To top it all off, the service here is impeccable; there’s really no better place to start off your day at!

My recommendations include the All-In Breakfast, the Classic Beef Stew, and the Smoked Duck Aglio Olio. If your appetite allows it, order the Garlic Bomb too, which is a large bread roll cut into bite-sized pieces and drizzled with garlic butter. The Toffee Nut Latte and Mint Mocha make for great beverage choices — the perfect morning perk-me-up.

Featuring vibrant artwork, white framed windows, and pops of teal and cyan, The Lokal makes for an ideal brunch spot if you’re working or living in Tanjong Pagar area.
